Stettner Uri [1935 - 1999]
1935 – Born in Tel-Aviv, Israel
1958 – 1959 – Studied at the Avni Institute, Tel-aviv
1960 – Moved to Paris, where he lived and created for ten years
1985 - Was invited to represent France in the Paris Bienalle together with five other artists.
1975 – Received the Oygen Kolb Prize from the Tel-Aviv Museum
1999 – Passed away
Exhibitions – Many solo exhibitions in the galleries of Paris and Tel-Aviv, in museums of Tel-Aviv, Hertzeliya and Ein-Harod. Group exhibitions in galleries and the Museum of Modern Art in Paris, and in Israel. A retrospective exhibition in his memory was held in the Ramat-Gan Museum in 2001.
Artists called him a Master of painters. His works are very sensitive, with airy brush touches in all kind of blue and green color nuances, mainly, which invites the observer to enter into the intimate world of the artist. Uri Stettner was an artist in all his being and art was the essence of his life.
His works can be found in the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, the Tel-Aviv Museum, the Haifa Museum of Modern Art and in many private collections in Israel and abroad.
